The rungs are flat (no ankle rollover), they are adjustable but will not move our of place during use. It can be used on any surface indoors or outdoors. It has rubber ends on each rung which helps the ladder to not slide. Mind body training are some of the latest techniques used today. Duel color speed ladders allow you to use command reaction training. Here is how it works: Start a speed drill at the 1st color. Instruct the athlete to switch to a different speed drill when they get to the 2nd color. Do not slow down when switching to the new drill. The 2nd technique is to call out a new drill right when the user gets to the second color. They should not slow down when switching drills. Training the mind & body to react quickly is vital training for today's athletes. The DVD shows 2 college athletes demonstrating 20 Speed drills. DVD was produced by the college athletes. This is not a commercial video however it does a nice job showing you 20 of the drills they do in their training. This DVD is a free bonus. This ladder is not as heavy duty as a NFL TEAMS ladder would be. A 44 foot ladder like theirs would cost $140 and up. The vast majority of user do not need a ladder that heavy duty nor do they want to spend $140 for a 44 foot speed ladder. Our ladder is a quality ladder with a price you can afford. It is long enough to run two players per ladder and I appreciate the free instruction DVD! I thought I would be able to link them together, but it hasn't been an issue for training purposes. Wish both were the same color ( just red and blck). Again does not hinder use or traing ability. I was skeptical this would be any good, considering the price. Occasionally I'm surprised to find something that is actually a good bargain when I open the package. This is such an item. I bought mine in 2010 and assume the package is the same in 2012, for this review. The ladders are everything they should be, and are four stories tall/long when laid out as one. Hence, they will fit into a small or large area. The DVD is hardly HighDef yet demonstrates just about every exercise you can do with these ladders, something I also needed. I'm completely satisfied with the two items. I recommend not paying more and receiving no more functionality or instruction than you get here. Five deserved stars. Nice and long and I like how you can make it one really long ladder or split it up in two. Lays flat for the most part.
